Shibadong Village is located in the hinterland of Wuling Mountains, with well-preserved Miao village styles and ancient wooden houses.
In 2013, the “targeted poverty alleviation” concept was first proposed here. In the past decade, the village has developed such characteristic industries as planting and breeding, Miao embroidery and tourism.
The per capita annual net income increased to 23,505 yuan in 2022. The village’s collective income reached 3.8 million yuan, and is expected to exceed 5 million yuan this year.
Changping Village has developed over 8,000 mu (about 533 hectares) of characteristic industries such as kiwifruit and grapes. It has also built 7,300 meters of roads and 8,000 meters of inter household roads, as well as one new village level comprehensive service platform, two leisure squares and three tourist public toilets.
At the same time, it has built an ecological farm that integrates swimming and fishing, flower appreciation, fruit picking and Tujia cuisine. Two swimming pools and one farmhouse have been built. The farmhouse receives more than 50,000 guests annually.
It has become a characteristic village with prosperous industries, livable ecology and enjoyable tourism. It has been rated as one of the top 100 beautiful countryside models in China, a beautiful leisure village in China and a provincial demonstration village for leisure agriculture integrated development.
